The Journey
After being diagnosed with an illness in December 2011, my condition had no cure, I noticed my once vibrant healthy hair had become very dry, brittle and coarse. I began treatments to suppress the disease. My beautiful hair began constantly falling out in clumps each time I showered. I wore wigs and head wraps to cover the shame of my hair loss. I couldn’t wear braids because my hair was too short and too fragile to attach anything to it. I remained in that state for the next 6 years.
In 2017 I decided to try a different approach. I started to eat all-natural , non-processed foods. I ate healthy and clean. Within six months I started to gain my weight back. I went to my doctor and after a series of tests they confirmed that I was now in remission! I was so excited; they took me off all the medications. I knew that it was only a matter of time, and my hair would improve as well. I was wrong, after months still, no results. Putting natural unprocessed foods in my body, gave me my life back, now it was time to feed my hair the same way.
Hair growth starts at the root in the bottom of the hair follicle on your scalp, the scalps blood vessels feed the root, thus creating more cells which causes the hair to grow. I began researching natural ingredients that would stimulate blood vessels in the scalp. My first formula gave my hair back some form of life. I tried it on friends and family, some liked it and others didn’t like it for one reason or another. So, it was back to the drawing board.
The journey was long and hard, but I finally made it, my hair was finally growing, and it was so healthy. I used the finest, purest and natural ingredients to create a line of natural hair care products that people of color, of all ages and hair textures could use safely on their hair, that would promote healthy hair growth without the use of so many harsh chemicals.
